Beneficial Insects
Ladybeetle Adults & larvae are both predators, eating soft-bodied small insects.
Ground Beetle - Eat insects and weed seeds.
Damsel Bug Stout beaks & large front legs for grasping prey.
Lacewig - Green
Lacewig - Brown Green or brown in color - feeds on nectar, pollen & aphid honey-dew. Larvae are active predators of softbodied insects.
Assassin Bug Medium to large predatory bugs with color range from brown to green.
Destructive Insects
Hornworm - Green
Hornworm - Brown Leaf pests - growing up to 5 inches. Make good fish food.
Grape Berry Moth Fruit pests that winter over as pupa in leaf litter.
Adult Grape Rootworm Root pests - adults lay eggs on vine trunks. Larvae crawl to roots remaining there for 1-2 years then eat small roots and bore into larger ones.
Adult Grape Root Borer Root pests lay up to 300 eggs. Larvae crawl to roots feeding for 2 years or longer reducing wine vigor or killing the vine.
